1. The Selfie King and Queen
These people are often found posing next to mirrors, wearing freshly applied makeup or flexing hard enough to cause minor heart damage. Gyms are places for exercise, put the phone away!
2. The Ninja
These acrobatic individuals place themselves at the entrance to the gym. Leaving spectators in awe as they swing from pull up bars like free falling monkeys in the rainforest.
They defy the laws of physics and perform summersaults with ease, much to the envy of the pensioner on a nearby rowing machine.
3. The Grunter
A dedicated gym goer who is known by many as ‘the beast’. This is as they are capable of tackling a dumbbell which is roughly the size of a small family car. You can hear their roar within a five-mile radius.
4. The Chatterbox
Even with your headphones blasting, you can still hear this gym-goer blabbering on about how Richard never tidies up. Or how their annual trip holiday getaway has had to be postponed. They are a social butterfly, fluttering their way across the gym chatting to every Tom, Dick and Harry.
They will rarely be seen actually working out.
5. The Tornado
This person leaves destruction in their wake and as such is probably the most frustrating individual in the gym. It’s okay to include drop sets in your workout, but when weights aren’t put back where they belong, everyone else suffers.
6. The Cardio Freak
Cardio freaks are obsessed with running and love telling people how many miles they can run. They also love to share how much they hate exercising indoors—much to everyone’s bemusement.
They’re often can be seen wearing very short shorts, but to their credit, they probably have the best endurance out of anyone in the gym.
7. The Early Riser
Whenever you muster up the energy to go for an early morning gym session, this person is already there. It looks like they have been for some time.
They are disciplined and have built in a regular time slot for working out every day in order to keep super fit. These people are an inspiration to every gym goer.
8. The Note Taker
The note-taker does everything by the book. If they are unfamiliar about an exercise, they check the book. When they break a new PB, they log it in the book.
If they get approached by a stranger in the gym, they glance at the book for guidance. The note-taker will unquestionably go far in life.
9. The Beginner
This person is very cautious. They are desperate to not end up on a YouTube fail compilation by operating the treadmill in an unorthodox manner and being flung out of the fire doors.
You may spot a beginner watching others complete exercises before attempting it themselves–but we’ve all been there. Everyone can relate to these newbies.
10. The Defeatist
The defeatist needs have continuous amounts of motivation and given support. They don’t seem to enjoy being in the gym and have probably been dragged along by a family member of a couple of friends.
Rather than reps of 1-10, they start with reps of 1-3. They love a good nag and usually make a lot of fuss about nothing.
11. The Enthusiast
Targets drive this person, they commit 100% of their effort. Nothing will stop them in their quest to achieve their daily workout. The enthusiast has the perfect balance of exercise and social time in their lives.
